An issue that has been recognized when upgrading between Symas OpenLDAP 2.4 and 2.5 continues to be a query latency issue when performing an ldapsearch. In order to prevent this from happening, the user needs to modify the “dyn-list attrset” configurations to utilize the dynamic memberOf feature in the dynlist overlay.

The final example in the slap-o dynlist man page shows how to go about doing this and can be represented by the following example:

dynlist-attrset groupOfURLs memberURL member+memberOf@groupOfNames

Due to a complete overhaul of dynlist between Symas OpenLDAP 2.4 and 2.5, it is a requirement to modify the structure of the dynamic list in order to further increase the speed of ldapsearch within the configured database.
